The reason I post this is to show the changing landscape of sexuality in America. When I was a kid, we were scandalized by Nabors’ and Rock Hudson’s allege affair; that George Takei (Mr. Sulu) was gay never occurred to us.
I can recall fans denying that Liberace was gay, and the same for Little Richard. People freaked about Jagger and Reed and Bowie … It wasn’t that long ago that Michael Stipe calling himself “an equal opportunity lecher” in Details magazine was a headliner. Now this, on the “entertainment” page, and it’s so “routine”, you probably wouldn’t even know about it otherwise. |
