Fave high gain dirt pedal for bass

At talkbass, I said:

I like and switch out many, including (off the top of my head) by DOD/Digitech, Malekko, Zvex, Wren & Cuff, EHX, ProCo, Walrus, Visual Sound/TrueTone, Peavey, Ibanez, Dunlop/Way Huge and some custom clone stuff.

But the best always on my board “on 11.5” bass high gain dirt for me is the MXR Bass Fuzz.

Pedals: DOD BiFET 210 (+ Gunslinger); EHX Pitchfork

DOD BiFET 210 (re-issue); soundwise it’s actually a pretty subtle boost on bass, which is OK, and the switchable buffer will probably end it up at the end of one of my boards. It’s on sale, (or was) $45 direct, free shipping that I learned on a Faecesbook ad (probably the best thing FB ever did for me except tell me about the DOD Gunslinger – what I like as a germanium distortion).

EHX Pitchfork: this is the shizzit for a pitch-shifter/octave pedal. It ain’t really traditional in that it seems to compress and even reverb just a touch when used with bass – no doubt because it’s digital. It has a bit of an identifiable sound, but that sound is good.
