So I bought a Blackstar HT20, because I’m an idjit but it was a great price, from some pawn shop.

And they shipped it UPS (guy later said he hates ’em cuz they’re rough on packages – he actually said that!) and it arrived damaged.

Someone was pretty clearly careless and dropped the box, likely on the edge of the trailer floor judging by the box damage.

Cracked out a “V” shaped piece at one screw holding the head in the box and bent the reverb knob shaft and broke the knob.

Seller offered 1/3 off the price but it’s more to fix it (it won’t look right but can be made functionally good) and anyway the damn thing is relatively heavy – like 35 lbs. He won’t go lower cuz he said he’ll make more dosh putting in the claim.

Sounds good, tho’ not channel-switching and came with no foot switch for the boost.

Also, I already have a Soloist 60.

I got pictures and shite but can’t be arsed unless asked.

eh …

if we was gonna be a cover band

… who would we cover?

we kinda done Stones/Neil Young/punk/grunge/noise – and happy to keep doing it, me

or, we could go roots-rock like John Hiatt, Byrds, Mazzy Star (dare I say Isbell?) are knowed for

we could go hard on Zep

we could try reggae (not ska, never again)

we could do ZZ Top Boogie (I bet TomS would play that lead style great)

I always dug Zevon

if we did a 60’s thing it would hafta be Yardbirds/Aminals/T.Rexish

I do a real good Bowie style

we could try for Cure, Joy Division, Echo, JAMC

we could try for Zappa but I think it would be beyond us

Prince would be beyond us, too

as would Wilco (tho’ not all of it, obviously)

the Cult or Mudhoney or Motorhead would be about as metal/punk-metal as I can go

I kinda feel like covers should be at least 10 years old, and that’s good for influences, also

now, where’d I put my weed …
