I responded:
My problem is typically the opposite.
When I was a teen working for the municipal water department, and then later as a college student working construction, I was often told by co-workers (not supervisors), “Slow down, don’t kill the job.”
In grad school I had issues with professors going so far as to call me lazy and/or imply I was cheating because I would complete 1 hour exams in 30 minutes – I had some huge rows about that with the only really persuasive (to me) argument being that I was upsetting the other test-takers, walking out so quick – but I either know the shite, or I don’t, just how my brain works.
Nowadaze, I “procrastinate” to allow thoughts/approaches to mature. It’s almost a form of self-editing, when I allow myself to ponder.
Patience is my issue, see – a quick example: Got a notice a cuppla daze ago from the P.O. that if my PO Box isn’t paid for by the end of the month, it’s lost. I started to go pay it and after some deliberate thought decided to wait to closer to the end of the month.
It autopay’d this AM.
There are few opportunities for spontaneity in my life. I cultivate them: Cooking is one, music another.
